Scavenger Hunts, Socials, & Print Releases, OH MY!

Things have been pretty quiet around here since the  beginning of January, at least in terms of news and updates. (Real life? Busy as hell.) But I wanted to pop on tonight to share some stuff that some of you might be interested in.

Night Owl Romance Spring Fling Scavenger Hunt

I’ve participated in the Night Owl Romance scavenger hunts before, and if you’ve never checked them out, it’s a great way to find new-to-you books by dozens of authors, in just about every genre of romance you can think of. There’s truly something for everyone.

Once again, I’ve joined the fun as one of the Spring Fling Scavenger Hunt sponsors. Participating as a reader is easy. Just head over to Night Owl Reviews, check out the blurbs, and enter in the giveaway. There are loads of Amazon Cards to be won, and all the authors have giveaway swag on the line as well.

Personally, I’m giving away a signed print copy of THE ONE I’M WITH (U.S. mailing address only!).

The Spring Fling Scavenger Hunt runs through May 3rd!

Instagram At lAst

A couple weeks ago, the Carolina Romance Writers hosted Laura Russell to present some fantastic information on how to use Instragram for branding and marketing.

I think I technically had an Instagram account set up like two years ago, but I never used it. I’m now using it.

I can’t say I’ve really found my Insta-thing yet, mostly because I’m playing with out the dang app works. But I have a pretty fast learning curve, so bear with me for a bit while I find my footing.

He Takes the Cake Print Release

I don’t have an official release date yet for when HE TAKES THE CAKE will be out in print. But I do know it will be soon! Keep an eye on the blog, newsletter, and socials for the official announcement once I have it.

And of course, Writing

What’s down the pipeline for me, writing-wise?

Well, my post-Civil War historical is in semi-re-polish mode while I float it off to a couple of contests. I’ll be starting the next round of submissions over the summer, I think.

And remember Marissa’s three best friends from THE ONE I’M WITH? They deserve their own stories, so that’s what I’m currently working on. Absolutely no other information on that, because I’m about a chapter and a half into the draft of the first book. But any announcements in the future about that trilogy project will happen in the email newsletter and right here!

Cover Reveal – The One I’m With (Sweet Somethings Book 3)

Since I just sent some revisions back to my editor yesterday and the release date is somewhat set in stone, I thought it might be a good time to reveal the cover for Sweet Somethings Book 3!

In this installment, I’ll be taking readers a little closer to my new home turf, with a setting in beautiful Asheville, NC. And who will be our romantic couple this time around?

Remember Josh Mattingly, the womanizing best man who tried (and failed) to snag a one-night stand with Carmella in BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE? Well, he’s been trying to clean up his act, and that includes erasing his playboy reputation. But his real challenge will be proving to Sweet Somethings newcomer Marissa O’Brien that she can trust him with her heart.

The truth is, letting yourself fall in love means daring to risk heartbreak.

Stay tuned for more updates about THE ONE I’M WITH, including the official blurb and release date. As always, if you want to stay connected on announcements and upcoming releases, email newsletter and follow me on my socials (Facebook, TwitterGoogle+, Pinterest, and YouTube).

And if you’re new to the Sweet Somethings series, don’t forget that BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE and WHEN IN ROME are both available for Kindle (and can be read on any device that supports the free Kindle reading app), and BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE is now available in print!

Whet Your Appetite for Some Chocolate

If you haven’t already, don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter, and keep your eyes peeled for info on the release day Facebook party and a Rafflecopter giveaway, coming at the end of August.

In the meantime, can I whet your appetite?

Chapter 1: The Phone Call

Three canvas shopping bags weigh me down as I stumble through my apartment door, sighing when the blast of air conditioning hits me. I navigate the seven paces to my galley kitchen, then drop my groceries on the counter and rifle through the bags until I find my Snickers bar. Luckily, it hasn’t melted in the late June heat. Tearing open the wrapper, I take a huge bite.

Heaven . . . after a long day on my feet rolling pastries and filling cream puffs.

I love my job, which normally takes my mind off my lack of a history-related career and my latest string of bad first dates. But then again, nothing is better than chocolate.

My cell rings, and I struggle to chew the mouthful of gooey goodness well enough to swallow, while I extract my phone from the bottom of my purse. A picture of my bleach-blond best friend, Sadie Miller, flashes on the screen. I force down my half-chewed chocolate and lift the phone to my ear.woman-791874_1280

I haven’t talked to Sadie in a few weeks, other than text messages and posting on Facebook, and it’s been even longer since we last saw each other. I went up to Atlanta in April to visit her and her fiancé, Ryan Wutkowski, but they haven’t been to Savannah since I moved into this postage-stamp-sized apartment. Sadie hates how old-fashioned things feel down here, especially when summer ramps up.

A squeal sounds on the other end of the line. “Oh, my God, Carmella, I’m so excited! I’m getting married in a month!”

“I know.” I grin and loosen the candy wrapper, then freeze. “Wait . . . What?”

“I’m getting married in St. Croix at the end of July. And you’re gonna be my maid of honor.”

Cover Reveal – Better Than Chocolate (Sweet Somethings #1)

Happy Monday! You’ll notice that the redecorating of my site is coming along nicely. There are still a few things I’m working on, but that’s not why I’m here today.

Since I finally have my ducks in a row, I’m pleased to share the official cover and blurb for my upcoming release, the first book in my Sweet Somethings Series!

Ready? Here we go!

Better Than Chocolate (Sweet Somethings #1)

Better Than Chocolate

Carmella Sannarelli is a people pleaser. She can’t say no to anyone, even when it means putting off her own personal goals in the process. So, when her best friend, Sadie Miller, calls with the announcement that she’s broken up with one fiancé and eloping with another in St. Croix, Carmella can’t stop herself from dropping everything and accepting the invitation to stand as maid of honor.

Jilted fiancé Ryan Wutkowski has been the third member of the Carmella-Sadie trio for nine years. He fully supports Sadie’s new engagement and upcoming nuptials, knowing it’s the right decision and best for both of them. But when he boards a plane to San Juan for a business conference, Carmella is the last person he expects to find occupying the seat next to his.

Two days in San Juan, then a week in St. Croix—Carmella knows her two best friends are hiding something. But can she figure out what went wrong between them as she battles her own tingly, off-kilter feelings toward Ryan, while dodging advances from a womanizing best man, and confirming for herself that Sadie did make the right decision? When Ryan unexpectedly shows up at the rehearsal dinner and gets himself invited to the wedding, will Carmella finally uncover the secret he’s held since the day they first met?
